The charge of the Light Brigade

At the Battle of Balaclava in 1854 during the Crimean War, the ‘Light Brigade’, (a group of British soldiers), charged down a narrow valley to fight the Russian soldiers who had captured British guns. Chloe-WTWB Reflection

When the Wind Blows

I thought this story was a bit funny because James kept on yelling at Ducks and saying words that Ducks had never heard before.

The labour herald said “This book deserves a wide audience and should be compulsory reading. “ I think it a good book for everyone to read because when you read it there’s a joke to it.

The guardian said “ It is meant to break your heart to some purpose. “ I think it meant to break your heart because it sad that they are trying to survive by living in a shelter.

Left behind on the beach

Left behind
the beach:

Left behind the beach:
Little shovels and buckets lying around
with sand and water in them.
Different kinds of shells in a good looking line
A shiny wet pair of goggles near the sparkling water
Flat sand perfect for making sand castles.

Left behind the beach:
A lovely gorgeous sunrise,
Wet suits and sunscreen covered in sand,
water bottle with yucky ocean water inside.
Toys, trucks, sandals and baby books forgotten.

Left behind the beach:
Loud noisy birds chirping, on a shady spot
having a walk to pick chips up from the grass.
Mum with her romantic novel, Dad with a lovely sounding
guitar.

Left behind the beach:
The water sitting in holes people have dug,
the ocean moving in and out.
People still swimming in the freezing cold water
with the bright sun shining on the water heating it up.

The ending is set up to be shocking.
We have to figure it out ourselves, because the author doesn’t tell you all the information.

Bruno meet this guy he’s Jewish, his name is Shmuel with his uniform that looked like a striped pyjamas.
Bruno’s dad was going to send Bruno to Berlin to have a better life.
Bruno went with Shmuel.
However they were crowded into the gas chamber.
When Bruno’s dad realized he had killed his own son, he didn’t care when the soldiers came and arrested him.
The author is telling us about the concentration camps and giving us  a warning,  to never let it happen again.  Even though it happened in WW2.
